Cleator Moor Lantern Parade |

Working with the schools, community groups and local residents over two weeks, 300 lanterns, and six large sculptures were constructed for the Cleator Moor lantern parade. The theme was Haloween, with plenty of bats, witches, ghosts, spiders and cats being made.
All the schools and community groups had also been practicing a special Cleator Moor anthemic song for the occasion. The lyrics of the song had been written by a member of the Blue Skies community group, with whom New Arts North holds a weekly choir session. Thank you to everyone who helped, providing workshop space, storage and support - there are too many to mention. This project was funded by Home and Copeland Borough Council, and involved the commissioning of Changeling Productions (first 2 lanterns displayed below) and Paul Edworthy (pyrotechnology displayed below).
